Lake Taupo and Huka Falls

Hi again!

Here are a few pictures of a trip that I went on last weekend.  Susan and I drove to the town of Taupo, which sits on the edge of Lake Taupo:

Lake Taupo is the result of a huge volcanic eruption about 10,000 years ago...now the lake sits in the crater. Eeek!

Susan and I stayed with her brother and his wife.  On Saturday, we drove to Orakei Korako, which is a thermal park. Here is the site's website if you want some more detailed information about it:

And here are my photos!

Later in the day we went to a neat little river with a stunning waterfall, called Huka Falls:

And then the NEXT day, Susan's brother (Cal) and his wife (Lyn) took Susan and I on a boat ride across Lake Taupo to a quaint little bay where we had a picnic lunch:

And that is all the adventures that I have time to share at the moment! I've got to be getting to my first class :) Coming next will be...Rugby, Karangahake Gold Mines, Waihi Beach

Bye bye for now!

Miss you :)
